Wine Emporium Gallery Features Charles Beck Sonoma County Landscapes
Wine Emporium
Mon, May 10th 12:00 PM - Mon, September 6th 6:00 PM
Sebastopol, CA (June 15th, 2010) The Wine Emporium is pleased to announce Charles Beck as our featured artist in the Gallery from May Day to Labor Day.

Charles Beck is a local artist who shares the beauty of West Sonoma County through his stylized interpretation of fields, waterways and sky. Charles was inspired to pursue art as a profession by the works of Richard Diebenkorn, Elmer Bischoff and David Park which led the Bay Area Figurative Movement in the 1960’s. He studied art at Sacramento Junior College, University of Colorado and Sonoma State University. He spent his youthful summers on Salmon Creek and most of his adult life as a commercial fisherman out of Bodega Bay. While his paintings go beyond West Sonoma County, he is most acclaimed for his large Sonoma Coast landscapes. His critical eye and developed technique yield works that have a reality at the core with an expression of the collective experience. In addition to the landscapes, Charles extends his collection to include still life and figure.
